Ryan lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife and high school aged daughter. They have two other daughters who are out in college. His first programming class was at Long Beach Community College during the summer of 6th grade. After that, it was fun for good. He eventually finished electrical-computer engineering from CSU and was the first official computer engineering graduate from the electrical engineering department there. He worked many years at HP doing anything from manufacturing to robotic automation to critical business applications and infrastructure. He has also worked for CAMA companies on product development.
For fun, he has also done various software projects with VR, AR, EEG to software interface, 360 dome interfaces, 3D games, and educational online edutainment. He and his family also like to watch movies, play cards, chess, rest, ski, snowboard, wakeboard, camp or anything like this for fun. As you can see, fun is important to him.
After graduating with a bachelor’s in construction management, Scott moved to Phoenix Arizona and worked for a few tract home builders. At one time, he was in charge of the largest subdivision that company had ever done starting 30 homes a month.
With the economic downturn in 2007-2008, Scott decided to go back to school and get a master’s degree. He moved to Utah and went to work for the Utah County Assessor’s department while he went to school at the University of Utah. Upon graduation, he started looking for a new job, which is when Kris Paulson invited him to join the PUMA team. Scott now lives in Salem, Utah with his wife. He has four kids and two dogs.
Kris Poulson earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and an MBA from LaSalle University. He holds a Certified Residential Appraisal designation with the Utah Department of Real Estate and is a Board Member for the Utah Division of Real Estate Appraiser Board. Prior to being the Assessor in Utah County for 20 years, Kris worked for Tyler Technologies designing, developing, implementing, and supporting software for local government assessment offices. Using multiple regression tools, he has generated and implemented residential automated mass valuation models in multiple states. He is a three-time recipient of the Assessor of the Year award by the Utah Chapter of the International Association of Assessment Officers.
Chris Swanski has been a software developer in the CAMA industry for over twenty years. As a
German linguist for the United State Air Force, he developed an interest In computer programming.
He took every programming course available from the National Cryptologic School. This lead to
writing automation programs for his duty team at Ft. Meade, MD which resulted in being awarded two
Joint Service Commendation Medals (JSCM). After his enlistment, Chris enrolled at the Clark College
Computer Career Institute and upon graduation began working a Vision Appraisal Technology (now
Vision Government Solution) from 1998 – 2015 reaching the title of Director of Engineering. Chris
participated in Vision’s largest CAMA implementations with the cities of New York and Boston, as well
as the District of Columbia. Having worked with Ryan Garner at Vision, Chris eagerly accepted Ryan’s
offer to join County Services in 2015. Chris and his wife Michelle live in Mont Vernon, New
Hampshire.
Sarah is a UI developer who started her software career as a report writer, after receiving her Master’s in Computer Information Systems from Colorado State University. She is a full-stack developer who has focused on CAMA and
Treasury software for the entirety of her career, and enjoys the creative problem-solving that comes along with the job.
Sarah lives in Fort Collins, CO with her husband, Curtis, and two cats, Fernando and LaFonda. In her spare time, Sarah
enjoys reading, working out and spending as much time as she can outside.
Raquel Engel is a native of Fort Collins, CO. She earned her undergraduate degree in Information Systems at Colorado State University and her MBA at Regis University. She loves to work on detailed tasks and has been involved in back-end
development for the MCAT team. In her free time, she likes traveling, spending time with her friends and family (including
two adorable nieces), and walking or hiking outdoors.
Lindy Conrad is from the Pacific Northwest who has landed in Fort Collins CO. She has a degree in Data Science from Oregon. Lindy works with the MCAT development team on application analysis. Lindy’s hobbies include family fun stuff,
traveling (typically beach & diving related), gardening and biking.
Geoffrey Trager grew up in the Chicago suburbs and graduated from Knox College with a degree in International
Relations, going on to spend a decade teaching English as a second language in East Asia. He developed a passion for
computer science and technology through self study and local programming clubs. Geoffrey started with CSS by using his
knowledge of Powershell to help create and manage Azure resources and Windows environments. He continues to assist
the team in Azure resource management, automation, and testing. Aside from reading about science and technology,
Geoffrey spends his leisure time enjoying sports and music.
Julie was born and raised in Carbon County Utah where she continues to live with her husband and 2 children.
Julie worked for the Carbon County Assessors office for 24 year serving as the Assessor for the last 10 years. Julie
is a Certified Residential Appraiser with the Utah Division of Real Estate, Designated Ad Valorem Residential and
General Real Property Appraiser with the Utah State Tax Commission. She is very excited to be a part of the
County Services Support team.
Originally from Kansas City, Missouri Tom moved to Colorado in 2017 with his wife and two daughters. Tom holds a degree in computer science and has been working with databases since 2010. He previously worked in a variety of private industries including a number of years in county government. Tom enjoys developing his skills in data and infrastructure. He is excited to use cloud based data solutions for to help solve business problems. In his spare time, Tom enjoys travelling and spending time in the mountains.
Michelle is a veteran of the United States Navy. Upon her honorable discharge, she attended the Clark Computer Career institute. After graduation, she began working in the CAMA industry with Vision Government Solutions (then Vision Appraisal Technology). She was there for 6 years eventually rising to the position of data conversion engineer. Later in her career, Michelle spent 6 years in the same role with Tyler Technologies. She is detail oriented and loves working with data. She likes figuring out and understanding how systems work. In her free time, Michelle likes to spend time walking or hiking with her dogs, and doing crafts. Michelle and her husband Chris live in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire.
Kelby Criswell is a native of Weber County, Utah. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science emphasizing in Software Development. Kelby started his career working for a local city as a junior developer, creating many applications for city planning, Parks and Recreation, and Emergency Services. He also worked on several projects for the USAF Logistics Squadrons as a contractor. He currently lives in Plain City, Utah with his wife and four children. Kelby enjoys doing anything outside from fishing, camping, and gardening to getting aerial footage while flying freestyle drones.
William Valentine is a native of Colorado Springs, CO. He earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering at University of Colorado Colorado Springs. He loves to work on new and different tasks and loves learning new things. In his free time, he loves riding his motorcycle, flying a Cessna, and hanging out with his family.
Mathew Bergquist is a native of Fort Collins, CO but left Colorado right after high school to join the USMC. After spending five years in the military, he earned his accounting degree from San Diego State University. After several years working as an accountant in San Francisco and San Diego, he moved back to Fort Collins to get his Computer Science degree at Colorado State University. He recently joined the team at County Services and is eager to learn and support the team. Matthew is married and has two daughters who are ten and three. He keeps busy with their swimming, soccer, music classes, and weekends filled with activities and trips.
Patsy Wood was born and raised in Ecuador and has lived for the last 20 years in Utah. She has a college degree in Computer Sciences from Ecuador and IT/Dev/Data certifications from Utah Valley University. Patsy works with the Personal Property development team doing Quality Assurance. Patsy loves to hike and to dance Latin music. You can find her during Rodeo season cheering for her daughter Cecilia in barrels competitions.
